The Character

Character's Name: Alecto Carrow

Character's Gender: Female once again

Character's Appearance: Alecto is a short girl, only about 5’2 or 5’3 in height. She’s very thin (weighing next to nothing); maybe its good genetics, maybe it’s because she’s paranoid about how she looks. Although blessed with being naturally thin, Alecto also has no muscles – at all, making her physically weak. She’s got medium length dark brown hair, although it’s sometimes black or a lighter brown in different lights. Overall, she inherited her mother’s good looks.

Character's History: Alecto was the first born into a well off, German-originated family. Her parents weren’t excited about birthing a girl, and immediately tried for a boy – and received Amycus. After the initial dislike of having a girl (like any good pureblood family, they needed an heir – a baby girl couldn’t provide that), Alecto’s parents soon began to dote upon her and her brother. Both were given most of what they wanted, although like some children brought up in rich pureblood families, they were told no on a good bit of occasions.

Amycus and Alecto get along for the most part and have a surprisingly close relationship for most siblings. Of course, since Amycus is her little brother, he is automatically prone to annoy her often. Alecto and her parents get along reasonably, although she’s not as close with them as Amycus is.

Showing no excellent magical talent throughout her childhood years, Alecto’s family was sadly disappointed in her. It was only after she arrived at Hogwarts did whatever amazing magical talent finally showed through. She’s skilled in almost all of her subjects except for Divination. She despises that subject, constantly claiming it has not point what so ever. Lucky for her, she only took it part of her third year, quitting before she lost her mind. Alecto, like her brother, rarely pays attention in class, because she knows most of what they’re teaching already. Although, unlike her brother, she usually has her homework done very early in advance, not wanting to have to worry about it.

Alecto started the trend of being placed in Slytherin (‘cause she’s a year older than you Amycus! :p) for the Carrows family. At first, her parents weren’t surprised, thinking that Alecto was only book smart – not good enough for Ravenclaw. Although, when her magical talents began increasing, they were confused by what the sorting hat saw in her that would place her in Slytherin. (They probably shouldn’t have wondered so much, considering they are interested in Voldemort and his planning…)

Currently, Alecto is in her sixth year at Hogwarts. She’s enjoyed it so far, feeling as if she owes the school a debt for bringing out her magical talent. She’s had a few boyfriends, although nothing serious. She doesn’t sleep around, although she doesn’t mind playing around with guys (but always leaves them hanging). As of now, she’s still a virgin and will stay this way until she finds someone she trusts and loves (yes, although she keeps it to herself, she’s a complete hopeless romantic). Also, just as a side note, she does smoke and drink.

Character's Personality: Having parents that never truly cared about blood purity, Alecto has never had any real prejudices toward students without pureblood, although she sets higher standards that they have to live up to so that they earn her respect. At first, Alecto joins the Death Eaters due to “peer pressure”, but eventually learns the joy or ridding all that isn’t worthy to be called a wizard.

Alecto is ambitious, wanting nothing more than to do her best and prove that she is worthy of respect and high opinions. She’s also very distrustful of people in general, slightly paranoid in her own way. She gives her trust easily at first, but the second she’s betrayed (or what she thinks of as betrayal) it’s hard to win her trust back again. Of course, having a slightly fiery personality, she likes to argue with teachers, causing her to have detentions often. She can be, when she feels forced, vindictive, manipulative, strong willed, and, automatically coming with being a Carrow, clever and sarcastic. She’s usually quiet around people she doesn’t know well (or exceedingly loud, a bit odd) and despite overwhelming Slytherin characteristics, Alecto is kind and innocent. Of course, having a slightly fiery personality, she likes to argue with teachers, causing her to have detentions often.
